What constitutes "comparable coverage" to initiate a HUSHP Supplemental waiver?

Evidence of Comparable Coverage: To qualify for a HUSHP Supplemental waiver, the Massachusetts Student Health Program requires the student at a minimum to have health insurance that offers:
  • Comprehensive coverage for hospital and ambulatory patient services in the Boston area.
  • Coverage for surgical services, emergency visits
  • Coverage for outpatient and inpatient mental health and substance abuse therapy
  • Coverage throughout the academic year (8/1 – 1/21 fall, 1/22 – 7/31 spring)
  • Coverage based in the United States
