Find and Select/Change PCP

At HUHS our doctors (MDs) and nurse practitioners (RN NPs) are organized into small practice teams. Thus when you choose your primary clinician you will be choosing a primary MD/NP team, as well as one or two other clinicians who provide coverage for the practice. This helps to ensure that the relationships you will have with your caregivers are both easy to establish and easy to maintain. HUHS offers increasing numbers of “same day appointments” on clinicians’ schedules to provide you with immediate attention when you need it. Choosing a primary clinical team means that you are more likely to see someone you already know and trust.

To select or change your PCP, you must contact Member Services. You may do this online or by calling (617) 495-2008. If you submit the online form please make sure to include your Harvard ID number and a telephone number where we may reach you if there are any questions.

Biographical sketches of our clinicians can be viewed in our online Clinician Directory and should help you make this important decision. Your selections will be granted based upon clinician availability on the date of receipt of your request (therefore, we ask that you indicate first and second choices). You will receive an email confirmation.

Please also note that we offer primary clinicians in four locations: at Holyoke Center on the main campus, at the Business School, at the Law School, and at the Longwood Medical Area. You may change your PCP anytime during the year by simply informing the Health Services staff.

If you have questions, please contact Member Services online, or call (617) 495-2008.
