Ways to Make an Appointment:

You may make your appointment in one of two ways:

1. Scheduling by Phone

   Call the department where you would like to schedule an appointment, or contact your provider.

2. Scheduling Through the Patient Portal

   There are limited appointment types available to web book. For Primary Care and Urgent Care, please call (617) 495-5711. See what appointments can be made through the Patient Portal.

Interpreter Services

If you speak a language other than English, HUHS provides language assistance services and appropriate auxiliary aids and services free of charge. To access these services, call (617) 495-5711 and indicate the language or service that is needed.

Missed Appointments

If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, please cancel your appointment at least 24 hours in advance through either the Patient Portal or by calling the department where you are scheduled to be seen. If you do not cancel and do not attend the appointment, a $25 missed appointment fee will be added to your term bill or billed to your home address.

The Center for Wellness and Health Promotion (CWHP) has a different missed appointment policy than HUHS. Please see the CWHP website for their appointment policies.

Medical Notes for Students Missing Class

To preserve valuable HUHS appointment times that could be used by those in need of clinical services, students are no longer required to submit an excused absence letter from an HUHS clinician for classes.

• Given this update, if a student feels well and does not need medical care, they should not make an appointment with HUHS solely to obtain an excused absence letter.
• Students should instead email their instructor that they are unable to attend class, copying their Resident Dean. If there are concerns about the excused absence, the Resident Dean will raise them directly with the student.
• Per the Harvard College Student Handbook, if a student misses a final exam for medical reasons, the student is still required to show a doctor’s note.
