Travel Health Overview

We provide immunizations and expert advice prior to your international travel. Our clinicians stay up to date on global infectious disease risks and country‑specific recommendations.

These consultations are available to all Harvard students and all Harvard University Group Health Plan members with an HUHS primary care physician. We recommend scheduling appointments six to eight weeks prior to travel by calling (617) 495‑2001.

Before and during your trip, we encourage you to monitor current health, safety, and security conditions for your destination.

Conditions in some countries can change rapidly, so it is important to review current travel notices close to your departure date and while you are abroad.

Register your personal or sponsored travel: Harvard offers traveler guidance through International SOS. Registration is available to all Harvard travelers using HarvardKey. For those traveling with Harvard sponsorship, this includes 24/7 medical, mental health, and security support, as well as evacuation services. Visit the Harvard Global Support Services website for more information and to register your trip. Please note that International SOS is not a health insurance policy.

If your health insurance is Harvard University Group Health Plan (HUGHP) or Harvard University Student Health Program (HUSHP), please contact BlueCard Worldwide to coordinate your care and HUGHP/HUSHP Member Services at (617) 495‑2008 for additional information. All other members of the Harvard community should contact their insurance provider directly for coverage details.
